Grolloo Flute Session 6
Dear Flute Friends
Thank you for visiting our site. You may be interested in the status of Grolloo Flute Sessions 6 (2020) in relation to COVID-19.
As you know many measures are taken worldwide and by the Dutch government to fight the COVID-19 virus. Group activities, such as concerts are not possible until Sept, 1st and possibly longer.
Unfortunately, we had to decide to cancel this year’s event and to postpone Grolloo Flute Sessions 6 to August 25-29, 2021.
We are so very sorry about this, but at the same time agree wholeheartedly any measures that are necessary to stop the COVID-19 virus. Preparations for GFS 6 were well on their way and we were so privileged to have a wonderful list of participants. Every year again we are dedicated to make a wonderful festival and also this year we were looking forward to the next edition, together with you. But we do not want to take any risk for you, or anyone involved in the festival.
We hope we can count on our flute-lovers to join us in Grolloo next year.
We already have been thinking about Grolloo Flute Sessions in 2021.
The new dates have been selected: August 25-29 in 2021.
We sincerely hope that we can welcome you next year.
Please let us know if we can reserve your place for next year.
We wish everybody the best in those insecure times and hope we will all meet next year healthy and happy!
In this message we would like to share some thoughts from our coaches and please follow the links with inspiration that they have sent us.
Very best wishes,
The Grolloo Flute Team:
Eva, Luuk and Gert
On this page we would like to share some thoughts from our coaches and please follow the links with inspiration that they have sent us.
We have experienced the magic of Grolloo during the last five years, sharing very special moments with flute players from all over the world. And now a summer without flute players on bicycles in the village.
I will miss you all with your creative energy. The birds will take over this year and we will be back playing for them next year – promised!
Meanwhile some low notes from Tadjikistan:
I will miss our special times in Grolloo with you all, this year…but postponing until 2021 is definitely the right thing to do. After these difficult and uncertain times are over, I am sure we will all emerge with renewed love for life, for every breath we take….every note that escapes our lips will sing like never before – and we shall all rejoice in each others company and creativity once again.
The sun has been shining (till now) and people are acknowledging each-other more in the street and valuing some of the important things in life … so some music to put a smile on our face in these strange and challenging times seemed appropriate.
Matthias Ziegler, Ian Clarke and Wissam Boustany are presenting an innovative flute course, with the support of Tim Carey, Kamelia Miladinova and Eva Kingma.
The Grolloo team places a high priority on creating a welcoming spirit of learning and sharing of ideas amongst all participants, irrespective of age or ability. Thus far, participants have come from across the world and have ranged from those about to start music college, graduates from leading musical institutions, to professional performers and teachers.
Participants will be discussing and experimenting many performance and practice issues in fully interactive discussions and workshops.
The course’s timing during late summer allows students and professionals to get back in shape ahead of the new musical season.
